The most daunting part of hiring a lawyer for many people is the expense. Though my firm is not a non-profit, I make every effort to ensure my fee won't break your budget and is as transparent as possible. In most criminal cases, and in many civil matters, I charge a flat fee - you will know the cost of representation at the time you sign the retainer agreement and never owe a single dollar more. If your income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, my fee is based on a sliding-scale hourly-fee.
I also offer "limited-scope representation:" I can provide services like document drafting and review, coaching for a hearing at which you will represent yourself, and consultation on the terms of your employment contract or employee handbook. I am a proud participates in the Collaborative Community Law Initiative (CCLI), a Minnesota-based non-profit working to pair clients of modest-means with affordable attorneys.
